    20 Black Peppercorn Vine Seeds

Black Peppercorn (Piper Nigrum) Vine Seeds This tropical perennial vine must be grown indoors if warmth isn't year-round. Black pepper is an American staple spice. It is high in medicinal value and adds aroma and flavor to any dish. Here is an opportunity to grow your own to grind fresh off of the vine!Grow Zones: 10,11,12 (Other zones must grow indoors)Other names: hu jiao, kali mirch, pimienta, fulful, pepe, filfil, pfeffer, piovreMedicinal Benefits of Black Pepper:The medicinal benefits of piperine are plentiful. Black pepper is a strong anti-inflammatory used to combat fever and has antioxidant properties as well. If you take supplements, black pepper (piperine) is likely found in your bottle to increase absorption. Adding black pepper to your food is important for the same reason (to increase the absorption of the mineral and vitamin content from your food). How to Grow Piper nigrum Black Pepper Peppercorn seeds:Piper nigrum thrives in slightly acidic to neutral soil types and grows best in a humid or moist environment. If you're growing them indoors, consider planting them in a hanging pot in a partially shaded area of your sunroom or in a pot near a window. If grown outdoors, prop the leaves up by allowing them to either grow up a tree, grow them up a winding coil, a fence, or a structure of some sort in order to enjoy a larger peppercorn harvest and provide some form of airflow for the leaves.Germination Procedure:Soak seeds in a cup of water for 24 hrs before planting. Sow seeds 1/2 inch deep into moist, warm soil. Plant seeds an inch apart. Water often. Seeds are hard to sprout without the softening effect of the water and consistently warm soil. Germination time is 45 days for most of the seeds. Even still, some won't sprout at this time. Continue the same treatment until enough seeds have germinated to your liking. Some simply remain dormant longer.

Organic Bleeding Heart Flower Seed Flower Perennial Flowers Bloom: Summer-Fall Plant Height 10"-12" Light: Part Shade Attracts Butterfly's Long Bloomer Growing Bleeding Hearts from SeedBleeding heart plants can be propagated from seed and these are some tips to help your seeds have the best possible chance to turn into beautiful flowers.β€’ Moisten a mixture of half coarse sand and half milled peat in a small (46") pot with water.β€’ You will only need to sow 3-4 seeds in each pot, poking a one-half-inch deep hole for each of the seeds. Place only one seed in a hole, then cover with loose peat that has been slightly moistened. Press the peat to make it slightly firm.β€’ Grab some plastic wrap from the kitchen and completely wrap however many posts you have made, then place them all in the freezer for about six weeks.β€’ Once you remove the pots from your freezer, I would recommend that you place them on a propagation mat at about 60-65 degrees close to a window that allows a lot of sunshine in.β€’ When the soil feels just barely moist at the very top, you can water the plant. Don't ever let it dry completely out, but don't keep it soggy (seeds can mildew if they get soggy).β€’ Once more, be patient, as it could take from two to six months for your bleeding heart plant to sprout. Once you do see some growth, thin out the weakest ones and leave only one plant in each pot.β€’ Don't move the plants outside until after the last frost.β€’ Once your plants have some mature leaves, they are ready to be transplanted into larger pots filled with potting soil, and grown in light shade for their first year.β€’ Continue to water whenever the soil feels barely moist at the top, then transplant them into a larger container, or a shady garden bed in early autumn (too much heat or sunshine will cause your flowers to be short-lived (ephemeral), and although they don't die, they do become dormant, but the roots are still fine. You should be able to count on having some gorgeous bleeding hearts if you follow all of these suggestions, and I wish you the best of luck with these gorgeous, shade-loving plants.
