Seeds from this Giant Milkweed Tree or Calotropis gigantea. Medium-sized to large shrub with light lavender flowers and seeds with a parachute of hairs.
The plant grows 8 feet tall and is hardy in zone 10-11. This plant is host to a variety of insects. The butterfly Plain Tiger and Common Crow breed here; their caterpillars feed on the leaves.
The shiny blue bee Xylocopa also visits. Although its blooms can be seen all through the year, its flowers mostly during the summer season.
