  • 50 Lithops Seeds - Mix - Seed World 50 Lithops Seeds - Mix - Seed World

    50 Lithops Seeds - Mix

A random mix of many Lithops species is included in these packs. Lithops are one of the Mesembryanthemums included in the range of plants described as living stones, each evolved to mimic the rock types where they are found. They will all grow approx 3cm tall with indefinite growth laterally. Minimum temperature should be around 10Β°C Sowing The seed of the stone flower is small and generally broadcast. When spreading, try to be as uniform as possible. Don't let the seeds get together. Sprinkle 150-200 grains in 10 Γ— 10 cm pots. Do not use too much. Too many seedlings are dense, affecting the ventilation and light transmission. They also compete with each other for water and fertilizer, resulting in inconsistent growth, size differentiation, malformation, and even death. On the other hand, if too little, the matrix will dry and wet slowly and it will easily cause rot. Therefore, it is very important to choose a flower pot with the right size. After sowing, a thin layer of vermiculite or river sand is sprinkled on the surface in order to prevent the seedlings from lodging after unearthing and effectively prevent the breeding of moss and green algae. Finally, water was sprayed again to make the seed and matrix fully in contact (Figure 6). After the seeds are sown, they should be covered with glass or film on the pot, placed at a temperature of 22-26 Β°C, waiting for germination. No watering is needed here. EmergenceIf the temperature is right, the seeds will germinate one after another 30-45 days after sowing. You will see green seedlings on the surface. Although it may seem sparse, it will soon grow full of flower pots. At this time, the pots should be placed in a place where light is scattered to allow the seedlings to receive light. After a few days, when most of the seedlings grow, it is necessary to gradually uncover the cover and increase ventilation and light.

    1 review

Rare Mix Lithops Seeds Living Stones Succulent Cactus Lithops is a genus of succulent plants native to southern Africa. "Lithos" means "stone" and "-ops" means "face" in Ancient Greek; therefore "Lithops" means "stone-like". This is a very good description of these plants, which avoid being eaten by blending in with surrounding rocks. They are often known as pebble plants or living stones. The formation of the name from the greek "-ops" means that even a single plant is called a Lithops. Plant Type: SucculentGenus: LithopsCommon Name: Living Stone Plant Form: CaudexClimate: Dry, TemperateSunlight: Full Sun, Partial ShadeFoliage: EvergreenWatering: LightAspect: East-facing, North-facing, South-facing, West-facingPlant Characteristic: Dwarf, FloweringSoil Type: SandSoil pH: Neutral How to Grow Sempervivum From Seed Plants of the genus Sempervivum go by many common names, including hen and chicks, and stonecrop. which is a direct translation of the Latin name. All species of sempervivum are small, low-growing succulent plants with a rosette form and spreading growth habit. Although most sempervivums are commonly cultivated using vegetative propagation methods such as division, they also grow reliably from seeds if they are exposed to very warm, bright conditions and kept moderately moist. Sempervivum seedlings are very susceptible to a fungal infection called damping-off, but this is easily avoided by not overwatering.

  • 700 Butterhead Lettuce Seeds - Seed World 700 Butterhead Lettuce Seeds - Seed World

Shipped from Deltona, Florida, USA 700 Butterhead Lettuce Seeds

Lettuce Seeds Buttercrunch Butterhead | Non-GMO | Heirloom | Fresh Garden Seeds Butter Crunch Lettuce is a classic butterhead lettuce variety that produces a dynamic and delicious taste. Buttercrunch can be planted just about anywhere, but the good news for those in warmer climates is that this variety tends to be far more heat-tolerant than most other lettuce cultivars. A nice firm "head" texture and a slightly buttery taste! Lettuces are a cool season crop and planting in the heat of summer should be avoided, but many varieties mature quickly, and often more than one crop can be harvested in spring and late summer. How to plant: Start lettuce seeds indoors or out, by sprinkling seeds in rows or in containers, and covering them with a layer of soil. If starting indoors, cover containers with a plastic bag to create a greenhouse effect and keep warm. Sprouts should appear within a week to 10 days. Once sprouted, remove the plastic and provide plenty of light. Once seedlings have a few sets of true leaves, transplant them to individual containers. Harden off seedlings about a week before transplanting out of doors. In outdoor beds, either thin or place transplants to desired spacing. We recommend approximately 4 inches apart for leaf lettuce varieties, 8 inches apart for loose-head types, and 16 inches for firm-head types. When to harvest: Harvest your lettuce when it is full size but not quite mature. You can remove the outer leaves to harvest and leave the inner leaves to grow. You can pull up the entire plant or cut it off if it is a Butterhead and Romaine variety, or you can pick it when the center is firm if it is a Crisphead variety.

Why Plant Lovers Are Obsessed with Venus Flytraps πŸͺ΄ Nature's most iconic carnivore β€” active snap-traps that catch and digest live insects 🀯 Conversation starter β€” endlessly fascinating for kids and adults alike πŸͺ± Natural pest control β€” catches fungus gnats, fruit flies, and other small insects 🏑 Grows indoors & outdoors β€” perfect for windowsills, terrariums, and balconies 🌱 Rewarding to grow from seed β€” a unique gardening experience unlike any other Growing Guide Sowing depth: Surface sow β€” press seeds lightly onto moist soil, do not cover Germination time: 8–35 days at 59–95Β°F (15–35Β°C) Sunlight: Bright indirect light to full sun (4–6 hours daily) Soil: Nutrient-poor, acidic mix β€” use pure peat moss or sphagnum moss (no fertilizer) Watering: Use only distilled or rainwater β€” tap water will harm the plant. Keep soil consistently moist using the tray method. Humidity: High humidity preferred; a clear plastic cover or terrarium works well during germination Temperature: 60–95Β°F (15–35Β°C); protect from frost Feeding: Do not fertilize β€” feed with small live or freeze-dried insects once traps are mature Product Details Scientific name: Dionaea muscipula Seeds per pack: 20 Type: Carnivorous perennial Foliage: Evergreen Climate: Sub-tropical, Temperate, Tropical Use: Windowsill, terrarium, balcony, office, living room Difficulty: Moderate (specific watering and soil requirements) Frequently Asked Questions How long does it take for Venus Flytrap seeds to germinate?Expect germination in 8–35 days at temperatures between 59–95Β°F (15–35Β°C). Surface sow on moist sphagnum or peat moss and keep covered with a clear lid to maintain humidity. What kind of water should I use for Venus Flytraps?Only use distilled water, reverse osmosis water, or collected rainwater. Tap water contains minerals that will damage and eventually kill the plant. The tray watering method (keeping a shallow tray of water under the pot) works best. Do I need to feed my Venus Flytrap insects?Outdoors, it will catch its own food. Indoors, you can occasionally offer a small live or freeze-dried insect (like a fruit fly or mealworm) to one trap every 3–4 weeks. Never feed it meat, cheese, or human food. Can I grow Venus Flytraps indoors?Yes! They do very well on a sunny south- or east-facing windowsill, or under grow lights. A glass terrarium or clear plastic humidity dome is ideal during the seedling stage. Why should I use peat moss instead of regular potting soil?Venus Flytraps evolved in nutrient-poor, acidic bogs. Regular potting soil and fertilizers contain minerals that are toxic to them. Pure peat moss or long-fiber sphagnum moss replicates their natural habitat and is essential for healthy growth.
