Titan Rx Turf-Type Tall Fescue Grass Seed

Titan Rx is a turf-type tall fescue developed for durable, medium-dark green lawns in sun and shade. The breeder describes the variety as selected for improved tolerance to heat, drought, winter conditions, and common turf diseases, along with rhizome and tiller growth that can support density and recovery.

Recommended Uses

  • New lawns and bare-area repair.
  • Overseeding established tall fescue lawns.
  • Sites with full sun, partial shade, or mixed exposure.

Planting Guide

  • New lawn or repair: 7–10 lb per 1,000 sq. ft.
  • Overseeding: 4–6 lb per 1,000 sq. ft.
  • Planting depth: Cover with no more than 1/8 inch of soil.
  • Soil: Prepare a firm seedbed; the manufacturer recommends a pH of 5.8–6.5.
  • Water: Keep the seedbed consistently moist with frequent, light watering until established.
  • Mowing: Begin when the grass reaches 3–4 inches; maintain at about 2–3 inches.

5 lb Bag Coverage

At the manufacturer’s rates, a 5 lb bag covers approximately 500–714 sq. ft. for a new lawn or repair, or about 833–1,250 sq. ft. for overseeding. Actual coverage and establishment depend on site preparation, application rate, soil, weather, and aftercare.
