Purple Shiso Seeds, Perilla, Japanese Basil, Red Mint, NON-GMO
Shiso seeds (Perilla Frutescens) are also known as Japanese Basil, Zi Su, Red Soviet Union, Purple Basil, or Red Mint. This is a culinary herb that is correlated to a mix of citrus, cinnamon, and coriander.
The bush-like plant will produce large aromatic purple leaves that are perfect for salads to sushi to pickling. This annual herb is also known to possess some medicinal qualities. For best germination results, soak seeds in water for 24 hours before seeding.
I do not have an indoor garden so I am waiting until spring to plant. I will try planting closer to Feb or March in small pods watering with spray bottle, and slowly introduce the plants to outdoor conditions.
