Red Dragon Clumping Bamboo Seeds
A highly ornamental, non-invasive, clumping bamboo with finely textured foliage and striking red canes that age to yellow. An excellent, cold-hardy specimen or container plant, its upright habit makes it very suitable for hedges or privacy screening.
Clump-forming stems in a ruby red color with olive green foliage give a beautiful tropical appearance. As the canes mature and get older, strip away the lower foliage to reveal highly decorative items.
This bamboo got its name from the red color of new culms. The red bamboo plant, also known as Red Dragon, needs enough sunlight in order to get red culms. Later they become a mellow yellow color.
Upright stems reach 8 to 12 ft. tall; slowly form a 4 to 6 ft. wide clump.
