A Perennial Green for Your Kitchen Garden
Give a corner of your garden a lasting purpose with Good King Henry. This traditional perennial produces arrow-shaped leaves for cooking and tender spring shoots that can be prepared like asparagus. Also called Lincolnshire spinach, it brings something different to an edible garden or perennial vegetable bed.
What You Receive
20 pre-stratified Good King Henry seeds (Blitum bonus-henricus, also known as Chenopodium bonus-henricus). These are seeds for planting, not live plants. The seeds have already received cold treatment; germination may still be slow and uneven.

Sowing & Care
Surface sow on moist seed-starting mix and press gently into place. Cover only very lightly, as light helps germination. Keep evenly moist without waterlogging, and be patient: emergence can take several weeks or longer. Gradually acclimate seedlings before planting outdoors. Water during dry spells and keep young plants free of competing weeds.
Good to Know
When can I harvest? Let plants establish during their first season and harvest sparingly. Fuller harvests usually begin in the second year.
How do I use it? Cook young leaves as a leafy green, or harvest tender spring shoots for steaming or sautéing. Leave plenty of foliage to support continued growth.
