Corkscrew Vine Flowers Snail Flower Vigna Caracalla Garden

Corkscrew vines are tropical perennials, so if you live in southern states you should enjoy blooms year-round.  Elsewhere treat as tender perennial (can be cut back and will regrow and flower in spring).  Allow beans pods to dry naturally on the vine in order to produce viable seeds.

The blooms twist and curl with shades of sorbet colors, and oh so sweet smelling, sure to catch anyone's attention.

Very easy and VERY fast growing to 15-25 feet. Does well potted or right in the ground! Said to be perennial in zones 9 and above, hardy too mid 20's. In colder areas, if cut back in the fall it can be protected with heavy mulch or brought to protection, said to come back with flying colors.

GERMINATION: Nick outer shell of seeds. Soak seeds in hot water for 24 hours allowing water to cool naturally.  When seeds plump, I place seeds on top of a wet paper towel in a ziplock bag and place them in direct sunlight until they sprout.

This usually takes 2 - 3 days.  Then plant about 3/4" under good potting soil (I use Miracle Grow potting soil) and watch them grow! For best germination results, start germination in early April when the weather is warmer. These are tropical vines and need heat to germinate properly.
