Coleus (Black Dragon) - For a dark foliage plant, start Coleus seeds and enjoy the show! Solenostemon scutellarioides is perfect for adding some intense color into the shade border. Or grow a house plant indoors in a sunny window.
Black Dragon is an unusually richly-textured, warmly-colored foliage plant. Compact, very showy, and easy to grow, it's a must-have for anyone with an area of shade, and it's so easy to establish with flower seeds.
The leaves are spectacular, both for their red-to-midnight-purple color shading and their rippling edges which will pucker and begin to turn colors. A familiar common name is Painted Nettle. It is suggested to start these flower seeds indoors 6 - 8 weeks before the last frost is expected.

I do not have an indoor garden so I am waiting until spring to plant. I will try planting closer to Feb or March in small pods watering with spray bottle, and slowly introduce the plants to outdoor conditions.
