Clematis virginiana (also known as Devil's Darning Needles, Devil's Hair, Love Vine, Traveller's Joy, Virgin's Bower, Virginia Virgin's Bower, Wild Hops, and Woodbine; syn. Clematis virginiana) is a vine of the Ranunculaceae family native to the United States. This plant is a vine that can climb up to 10-20 ft tall.
It grows on the edges of the woods, on moist slopes, on fence rows, in thickets, and in streambanks. It produces white, fragrant flowers about an inch in diameter between July and September.

Scarification: Soak in water, and let stand in water for 24 hours. Stratification: cold stratify for 60 days. Germination: sow seed 1/16" deep, tamp the soil, and lightly mulch the seed bed.
