The Fortune Rhododendron Shrub is a native of China that was long ago introduced to the US back in the mid-1800s. Rhododendrons are evergreen with large thick dark green shiny leaves. Rhododendron Fortunei is both more heat & cold tolerant than most rhododendrons. They are extremely popular because they are extremely ornamental. In spring, the bushes are absolutely covered in clusters of huge 3 – 4” flowers. The flowers are fragrant with lovely multi-colored pastel buds & blooms, & they offer a long bloom period.
