Sizzle is a pink Lance Leaf caladium variety. These shade to full sun-loving caladium bulbs or tubers are great for adding easy color to your late spring and summer plantings. Sizzle is considered short to medium in height (1-1.5 ft). Sizzle is a very showy, brightly colored variety that was developed by the University of Florida to be able to withstand Florida’s extreme summer sun and heat.
Sizzle caladium bulbs are tropical foliage plants that are easy to grow in landscaping, pots, and planters. Sizzle caladiums have very frilly, rosy pink leaves with a deeper rose vein and thin green margins. These vibrant, hot pink leaves look beautiful in front of taller contrasting caladiums or foliage and in hanging baskets.
Caladium bulbs originated in the Amazon Basin, which is why they require and thrive in the warm summer day and night temperatures. Caladiums are from the Araceae family and mix well with other annuals, Hosta’s, ferns, and foliage.
I do not have an indoor garden so I am waiting until spring to plant. I will try planting closer to Feb or March in small pods watering with spray bottle, and slowly introduce the plants to outdoor conditions.
