Wonderberry is a perfect name for this small heirloom shrub. They can produce fruit as quickly as 75 days from seed, starting when the plant is just 4" tall! The edible berries are a bit bland and plain but are great combined with sugar for pies and jams.
The unripe green fruit Is poisonous, so you must wait until it is ripe to eat it. Birds love to eat berries. The Wonderberry is well worth growing just for its ornamental value alone. They have lovely white and yellow star-shaped flowers in spring, and the fall berries are a very ornamental bluish purple. They can be grown in containers.

I do not have an indoor garden so I am waiting until spring to plant. I will try planting closer to Feb or March in small pods watering with spray bottle, and slowly introduce the plants to outdoor conditions.
