Long Asian Bottle Gourd, Dudhi, Sorakaya, Lauki Seeds, Calabash
This organic calabash gourd variety produces a long bat-shaped gourd that is most tender when picked 12-24" long. The light green-skinned fruits have white flesh and are sweet and entirely edible when harvested at this immature stage.
The gourd can be left to fully mature and the skin will harden. The vine is very vigorous and has white flowers. Cultivation: Prepare fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds after the last frost in a warm, sunny location. Keep soil moist.
Fertilize as needed. Train to climb a vertical support for better air circulation, easy to harvest.
They are very easy to grow & easy to maintain. Seeds need min 20°C to germinate. Soak the seeds in water for a few hours before planting them and sow them in a sunny, well-drained position. Germinates in 2 weeks.
yes id did buy and receive bamboo seeds from you. i planted same and now cautiously await some indication the sprouting will begin. we are in northern nj where it is quite cold so i am keeping the plantings in a planter system we use for seedlings. only time luck and patience will tell the ultimate story. if the seeds come to be small plants we will replant into pots until spring and after that we are guardedly optimistic. thanks for the request and service. stewart a farber
I do not have an indoor garden so I am waiting until spring to plant. I will try planting closer to Feb or March in small pods watering with spray bottle, and slowly introduce the plants to outdoor conditions.
