Cinderella Pumpkin (Cucurbita maxima) is an old French heirloom that is ideal for baking/cooking and also excellent for Halloween decorations.
Introduced to the US in 1883, this annual will grow up to 25 lbs with deep ribs and a flattened shape. If you want to grow for Halloween, be sure to start your seeds in early to mid-summer so your pumpkins will mature in the fall.
My zoysia grass suffered over the winter and I went on a limb to buy a few small bags of seed to repair some bald spots in my lawn. Much to my surprise the seed is coming out after a week and I am expecting wonderful results. Happy camper.
