Jicama, called Mexican yam bean, or Mexican turnip, is a globe-shaped root vegetable with papery, golden-brown skin and a starchy white interior. It's white inside and tastes like an apple but not as sweet.
Though it produces legume fruits they are typically removed to promote tuber growth.

I do not have an indoor garden so I am waiting until spring to plant. I will try planting closer to Feb or March in small pods watering with spray bottle, and slowly introduce the plants to outdoor conditions.
