Meyer Lemon š Seeds Organic NonGmo Pesticide Free Citrus Garden Fruit Tree
Meyer lemons are believed to be a cross between a regular lemon and a mandarin orange. The fruit is about the size of an orange with a smooth, deep yellow peel.Ā Because the peel is thin and lacking in a thick, bitter pith, the whole lemon (minus the seeds) can be used.
The tree reaches 6 to 10 feet (2-3 m.) in height with dark green shiny leaves. Pruning keeps it more manageable with a fuller appearance. The flowers are white with a purple base and fragrant.Ā Ā It is self-pollinating, which means you need only one tree in order to get fruit.
Winter hardy to USDA Zones 9-11 where this small citrus tree will grow well in sandy, neutral, well-drained soils in full sun to light shade. It has the best winter hardiness of any of the lemon-type fruits
I do not have an indoor garden so I am waiting until spring to plant. I will try planting closer to Feb or March in small pods watering with spray bottle, and slowly introduce the plants to outdoor conditions.
