Giant Allium Allium Giganteum Purple Globe Flower Seeds
Giant Allium is a perennial herbaceous plant with a very impressive height of 80 to 150 cm. It is a very decorative ornamental type with stately violet-rose umbels of up to 20 cm in diameter. It originates from the Middle East and Central Asia.
As an ornamental plant, it is used in parks and gardens and forms a wonderful ensemble in flower beds and borders when in a group with other plants.
It can also be used as a cut flower in a vase as a stylish living ambiance enhancer and is a very special highlight on the balcony or terrace in a bucket or plant pot form.
The giant onion requires nutritious, but water-permeable, well-drained soil. It prefers a sunny, dry to slightly damp location, and tolerates waterlogging, but only poorly. In Central Europe, the giant onion is cold-hardy. Propagation takes place by onion division or by seed.
