An excellent specimen or landscape tree. Plant Magnolia in full sun or partial shade in moist, well-drained, slightly acid soil. Pruning requirements are minimal—remove dead or broken branches in late winter or early spring when the plant is dormant. Other pruning can be done as needed after bloom.
In mid-spring, before its leaves appear, ‘Butterflies’ covers itself with glorious, 4-5” yellow flowers that sit upright on the branches. After 10 years, plants will reach about half their full size.

I received my seeds. I have just planted them so I have not seen any growth but I am excited. They also gave me a tomatillo seed for free and I thought that was fun. They were packaged nicely and came in a timely fashion.
