Lithops is a genus of succulent plants in the ice plant family, Aizoaceae. Members of the genus are native to southern Africa. The name is derived from the ancient greek words λίθος (líthos), meaning "Stone," and ὄψ (óps), meaning "Face," referring to the stone-like appearance of the plants.
Lithops also referred to as pebble plants, are succulents that grow extremely slowly and rarely get more than 1-inch above the soil. They usually only have a pair of leaves, which look more like stones than leaves with a fissure separating them (small gap) and epidermal windows (the small holes on top of the leaves)
They avoid being eaten by blending in with surrounding rocks and are often known as pebble plants or living stones. The formation of the name from the ancient greek "-ops" means that even a single plant is called a lithops.”

yes id did buy and receive bamboo seeds from you. i planted same and now cautiously await some indication the sprouting will begin. we are in northern nj where it is quite cold so i am keeping the plantings in a planter system we use for seedlings. only time luck and patience will tell the ultimate story. if the seeds come to be small plants we will replant into pots until spring and after that we are guardedly optimistic. thanks for the request and service. stewart a farber
I do not have an indoor garden so I am waiting until spring to plant. I will try planting closer to Feb or March in small pods watering with spray bottle, and slowly introduce the plants to outdoor conditions.
