Kalanchoe tubiflora is a flowering succulent that is native to Madagascar. Synonyms for Kalanchoe tubiflora include Bryophyllum delagoense, Bryophyllum tubiflorum, Kalanchoe verticillata, Bryophyllum verticillatum, and Kalanchoe delagoensis.
Kalanchoe tubiflora goes by the common names Mother of Millions, Chandelier Plant, and Devil's Backbone. Kalanchoe tubiflora is a great choice for beginners.
This species prefers bright light but can handle partial shade. Mother of Millions is drought tolerant and prefers a well-draining soil. Mature plants will produce a large number of tiny plantlets at the end of their leaves.
These plantlets will fall off with the slightest disturbance and will root where they land. This allows Kalanchoe tubiflora to self-propagate at high levels.
I do not have an indoor garden so I am waiting until spring to plant. I will try planting closer to Feb or March in small pods watering with spray bottle, and slowly introduce the plants to outdoor conditions.
