This beautiful purple basil grows vigorously and makes an excellent container plant. The flavor is quite strong, relatively sweet, and makes a lovely addition to any dish that uses basil.
Add it to vinegar and it imparts a purple tinge. I have found it to be great in pesto as it does not lose its purple color when crushed.
Flowers are lilac in color and sit atop red stems. It makes great bedding or border plant. 8-10" in height when mature.
