Chanterelle yellow got its name due to the characteristic color (orange or egg yolk color) by analogy with fox color. This feature is due to its high content of carotene, in this regard, chanterelle is the leader among the mushrooms, which makes it a particularly valuable dietary mushroom.
The diameter of the yellow fox hat varies from 1'-4' (2-10 cm). The shape changes from almost flat or slightly convex during germination, to funnel-shaped with wavy edges (often not of the correct form) during final formation. The cap itself is fleshy, dry, and dense. The sporiferous layer is represented by rare thick folded pseudoplates, avoiding down the leg and having one color with it.
The color of the spore powder varies from white to yellow. The hat smoothly passes into the leg, which reaches 2' (6 cm) in height and 1'-2' (2-4 cm) in diameter and has a conical shape, tapering downwards.
