Sold by a licensed nursery. Plants are currently 6+” tall. I’ve also included pictures of the corms/tubers, but you will receive a growing plant with roots, 4+” tall. Expect this little plant to produce 25-50 edible water chestnuts!
They will fill half a bathtub sized area with beautiful 3-4’ tall hollow reeds by mid-summer. Some claim these need to be grown in the subtropics, but I’ve been growing them in the mountains of Virginia for years.
Plant in a fairly heavy soil, clay is ok, at least 8” of depth, 12” is better, beyond that doesn’t matter. Plant after frost and harvest before hard freeze, but I can harvest in the spring by leaving in my larger pond that doesn’t freeze down to tuber depth
Quantity: 4 x Chinese Water Chestnut Rooted Plant (Eleocharis Dulcis)
